Inspired by a journey into the Eastern Sierras with my sons, The Exodus Side Table mirrors the path taken to find the quiet beauty of a hidden alpine lake. The legs are an architectural nod to the dense forest hike — vertical lines that mimic the rhythm of timber and trail. The hand-finished patina top serves as a focal point, capturing the interplay of the golden Sierra sun with the cool, aqua-verde lake teeming with brook trout.

The piece is a translation of a specific landscape into a functional form, where the ruggedness of the trek meets the stillness of the destination. It serves as a reminder that the most rewarding views are found off the beaten path.

The Exodus Collection is crafted from select Black Acacia sourced through our Urban Timber Initiative — responsibly harvested from the urban forests of Southern California. Each piece preserves natural live edges to honor the theme of our forrest experience. No two tables are ever alike: grain, silhouette, and organic movement vary from piece to piece, and the hand-applied patina develops its own quiet depth. The result is a functional sculptural object that carries the story of place, stewardship, provenance and honors the full life and legacy of a resource that has already given so much.
