Urban Sycamore Coffee Table
Residential Commision
Topanga
The Urban Sycamore Coffee Table is a commissioned piece informed by mid-century modern proportions and material honesty. Crafted from locally salvaged sycamore sourced through Street Tree Revival, the table celebrates the expressive character of spalted grain, allowing natural variation to guide the final composition. The form remains clean and restrained, while subtle details invite closer interaction. Beneath the surface, the table opens to reveal two ash drawers, built with wooden slides and custom-designed wood pulls—eschewing modern hardware in favor of traditional joinery and touch-driven use. The result is a piece that balances warmth, utility, and quiet craftsmanship, intended to be discovered over time rather than announced at first glance.
